It all started years ago:-
- I bought a cheap digital camera to take pictures of our cat (yes, I blame the cat). Upgraded quickly to a bridge camera
- Then took a few pictures at various motorsport events and quickly bought a professional spec digital SLR.
- Very soon, Sally (my wife) was hooked also, which made purchasing Canon 1D SLR’s and L-series lenses so much easier to justify.
- Left a full time job as an Electronic Development Engineer at Calrec Audio Ltd to focus fully on photography and whatnonegatives.com
I started out covering both motorcars and motorbikes but my main focus is now 4 wheeled motorsport and so I now:-
- Exclusively use Canon 1D mkIV digital SLR’s and Canon L-series lenses.
- Work with HD 720p/1080p video shot with my 1D mkIV digital SLR cameras.
- Work with both Apple Mac’s and PC’s, with both being very good at some things and very bad at others!!
- Contribute on a regular basis to various motorsport publications.
- Freelance for various motorsport photo agencies.
Things to note:-
- Always willing to try something new and fully aware that both static and moving pictures will soon be a prerequisite of a motorsport digital SLR user.
- I’m not a professional web developer, but have managed to set-up a fully searchable, MYSQL database driven photo repository for whatnonegatives.com
- I’ve now worked on various Microsoft Sharepoint Intranet sites for various large companies.
- Well versed in coding C, C++, Delphi, Visual Basic and PHP. Many custom projects developed over the years along with those created whilst employed by Calrec Audio Ltd
- Now creating custom websites including those based on WordPress
